Current Watch List

I had a few new K-dramas catch my eye in recent days. I’m still watching “Island”, but I started “Mouse” (also on Amazon Prime here in the states) and got hooked instantly. I’m somewhere around episode 8 and it’s still as intense as it was in the first episode. It follows the son of an incarcerated serial killer and the cop who’s trying to catch him. The twists and turns are crafted really well. It’s gone off the rails a bit with the “brain transplant” arc but it’s still very entertaining. I imagine I’ll finish this one up in the next week.

I also watched the first episode of “Our Unwritten Seoul” (Netflix) starring Park Bo-young. She plays twin sisters who grow up very differently from each other. One still lives at home with their mother and works part time jobs, the other has a seemingly successful career with a large company in Seoul. A series of events prompts them to trade places since no one is able to tell them apart. It looks like it’s going to be a tear-jerker. I’m anxiously awaiting the second episode since Netflix is releasing them once per week instead of the usual binge and dump.

As for “Newtopia”, which I had started a few weeks ago, I think I’m checking out for good. Better options have presented themselves. Apologies to Jisoo who was the one bright spot in an otherwise forgettable show.
